Title I, Part A - Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged

Title I, Part A provides supplemental funding to support school districts in improving the academic achievement of students who are economically and educationally disadvantaged. Title I, Part A works to ensure all children have a "significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and a high quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps" (ESSA, Section 1001).
Title I, Part A funds are utilized to supplement educational programming, to ensure high academic standards are being met, to provide professional development, to build staff capacity, and to increase parent and family engagement.
