Title I Distinguished and Reward Schools

The Georgia Department of Education annually recognizes Title I schools that are making significant progress towards improved student achievement and/or in closing the achievement gap. This programs honors Title I schools in the following three categories:
Title I Distinguished Schools - Title I Distinguished Schools are honored for ranking in the top 5% of Schoolwide and top 5% of Targeted Assistance Programs that have the highest performance for the all-students group based on statewide assessments.
- Title I Reward Schools - Title I Reward Schools are honored for ranking in the top 5% of Title I schools that are making the most progress in improving the performance of the all-students group over the most recent two years of statewide assessments
- National ESEA Distinguished Schools - Title I Distinguished Schools operating a Schoolwide program are invited to apply for this award. Applications are scored and ranked by a review committee. Two Title I schools in Georgia receive this award annually.
