• Ambassadors 

    Our B.R.A.V.E. Ambassadors are 4th and 5th grade students who are the face of Oak Grove.  They play a key role in greeting visitors, helping new students, as well as hosting events and programs.  Students are nominated by their 3rd grade teacher and can stay for two years.  bradley.nisha@fcboe.org

    In addition to daily music lessons and grade-level performances, Mrs. Reyes teaches a volunteer chorus after school typically with a spring performance for students and families.  reyes.ashleigh@fcboe.org 

    Club Inspire

    Club Inspire is a student-led kindness club open to 4th and 5th graders. During the meetings, the students will perform short kindness skits, play kindness games, and work on random acts of kindness. Club Inspire members also do a service project each year.     D.A.R.E.

    D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches 5th Grade students how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives. Corporal Paul Smilley will begin in January to teach this 10-week program to our 5th Grade students.  smilley.paul@fcboe.org

    Good News Club

    Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship that meets each Monday with each student's parent’s permission. Each week the leaders present exciting Bible lessons.  This time also includes songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson’s theme.  jones.jennifer@fcboe.org 

    Math Team

    Every year, our county hosts an elementary math tournament. Each school sends a team of 4th graders and 5th graders to compete. Each team consists of three team members and one alternate.     Poetry Recitation 

    Poetry Recitation is a unique challenge for interested students. Students memorize a poem for reciting in front of their peers and can advance to the County Poetry Festival.  Guidelines are available in late fall with the County recitation typically in January.  grant.bethany@fcboe.org 

    Running Club

    Coaches King and Turk host Running Club each morning (weather pending) throughout the school year.  Open to all, students can use their laps to earn mileage towards the fall Kids Marathon.  king.julie@fcboe.org  

    Safety Patrol

    Safety patrol is for responsible 4th and 5th grade students interested in making Oak Grove a safe and friendly place for students arriving and leaving each day.     Technology Competition

    GaSTC (Georgia Student Technology Competition) is a statewide technology competition where students in grades 3-12 compete in a variety of technology categories.  The first round is competing against other Fayette County students.  Top finishers compete in the region.  Region top winners compete at the state level.  Our main goal is to challenge students to become leaders in a digital age.  For a list of categories, visit www.gastc.org  walters.lori@fcboe.org
