    Greetings students and families,

    I am excited to have the honor of being the principal of  Fayette County High School. I have a career in education that has spanned 21 years with 10 years being in Fayette County Public Schools. I have worked as a mathematics teacher at 4 schools; George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Florida; Olympia High School in Orlando, Florida; Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy in Atlanta, GA and Bennett's Mill Middle School in Fayetteville, GA. I have served in several leadership roles including a Discipline Dean at Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida; a Discipline Dean at Olympia High School in Orlando, Florida; Assistant Principal at Fayette County High School in Fayetteville, GA and Principal at Fayette LIFE Academy in Fayetteville, GA. All of my educational experiences and positions have provided me with the educational knowledge and expertise to continue to lead teachers to prepare students for the walls beyond Fayette County High School.     I was born in Sarasota, Florida and attended Booker High School in Sarasota, Florida. After graduating High School, I attended Florida State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science. Shortly after becoming a mathematics teacher at George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Florida, I decided to pursue a Master's degree in Educational Leadership in Nova Southeastern University with aspirations to become an Assistant Principal. I also earned an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University. 

    My passion is providing a quality education for all students and causing a spark in students that will change the world. As the Principal of Fayette County High School, my focus is on student achievement and communication.  I believe student achievement is our core business and responsibility as educators. At Fayette County High school, I will continue to support teachers to focus on quality instruction Additionally, my focus is to strengthen our communication channels to foster a collaborative partnership between home and school. 

    I am married to my husband of fifteen years, DeMone Lee. Together, we have two beautiful children, a daughter Chayse (9) and a son Andreas(5) (aka Ace). When I am away from Fayette County High School, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching college football. 

    I am proud to have an opportunity to continue the tradition and legacy as the next principal of Fayette County High School.

     Key  

    Mr. Chris Key, Assistant Principal

    Mr. Key is currently in his third year on Tiger Trail. Mr. Key has been a part of the Fayette County Tiger feeder pattern since 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Jacksonville State University, a Master’s in Education in Instructional Technology from West Georgia College, an Educational Specialist degree in Media Education from the State University of West Georgia, and a Tier 1 Leadership certification from Georgia State University. Mr. Key is committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. His approach emphasizes open communication, collaboration,and building strong relationships among students, teachers, parents, and the broader community. Mr. Key’s goal is to continue fostering a culture of academic excellence, social responsibility, and respect for diversity, preparing students to become global citizens and future leaders. Beyond the school campus, Mr. Key enjoys drum & bugle corps, yoga and spending time with his family and two dogs, Sammy & Tonka. 

     


     

     Lott  

    Ms. Ashley Lott, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director

    Ms. Lott is excited to begin her thirteenth year in education. This is her first year at Fayette County High School as an Assistant Principal.  She began her career as a Health/Physical Education teacher;  over the next few years, Ms. Lott became the Health/Physical Education department chair, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Coach, and a sponsor of Fellowship for Christian Athletes. 

    Ms. Lott is a resident of Fayette County and a product of Fayette County Schools where she attended North Fayette Elementary School, Flat Rock Middle School, and graduated from Sandy Creek High School. 

    Ms. Lott earned her Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Studies from Clayton State University, a Master of Arts in Sports Administration from Central Michigan, a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix, and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University. Her career honors include: 2015 Sandy Creek Coach of The Year, 2022 5-AAAA Region Athletic Director of The Year, 2023 5-AAAA Region Athletic Director of The Year, 2023 AAAA State Athletic Director of The Year, and 2022-2023 Administrator of The Year Nominee.

     


     

    Hope Wilkins

    Dr. Hope Wilkins, Assistant Principal/Registrar

    Dr. Hope Wilkins is excited to embark on a new chapter in her twenty-four-year education career as Assistant Principal at Fayette County High School. Prior to this role, she served as a Fayette County Secondary Instructional Coach at both Fayette County High School and Bennett’s Mill Middle School. Although new to the high school administrative level, Dr. Wilkins brings extensive experience as a middle school assistant principal, virtual academy coordinator, and math teacher at both the middle and high school levels. Her educational journey encompasses ten years in Cobb County, twelve in Douglas County, and one in Fayette County.

    A native of Plymouth, North Carolina, Dr. Wilkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Winston-Salem State University. She furthered her education with Master of Arts degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix, as well as an Educational Specialist and Doctorate of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University.

    Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Wilkins employs a leadership approach that blends facilitation, coaching, and service. She is passionate about creating a supportive environment where teachers and students can excel. Outside of school, her interests include crime dramas, sports, travel, and fitness. Dr. Wilkins is honored to join the Tiger Trail family.
