Welcome to the Wildcat Family!
I am so glad you are here.
If you are new to the district and unfamiliar with my background, I have 20 years of educational experience. I taught 6th- and 7th-grade mathematics for 11 years, was an assistant principal for four years, and the remaining time was spent at the district office as the Coordinator of Assessment and Accountability. For the entire time I was a classroom teacher and an assistant principal, I called Whitewater Middle School home. I am so excited about being back at this great place!
I earned my teaching credential in middle-level education for a reason, and I am a true believer in middle school philosophy. While the time children spend with us is short, the changes a child goes through as he moves from 6th to 7th to 8th grade are remarkable. I am proud to say the educators and support staff that we have here at Whitewater CHOOSE to be here, and we are going to support your child through this unique time in his or her life.
The well-known African proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child.” As a result, I welcome you to our school. We have a highly engaged and supportive PTO that loves volunteers; a beautiful, updated media center where we would love to have you spend some time; an updated front office with a staff who would welcome you to help answer phones; and teachers who need your support. Please feel free to reach out to let us know how you can help!
On a more personal note, I am proudly married to Kristen, a science teacher at Booth Middle School, and we have one child, a student at Whitewater High School. Additionally, we have two cats, and a yard full of wildlife such as deer, turtles and owls.
I am looking forward to a great year! If I can ever help support you or your child, please feel free to contact me.
Go Wildcats!
